Taj Mahal is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna river in Agra. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan to house the the tomb of his favourite wife, Mumtaj Mahal. In terms of majesty and magnificence, unrivalled, the Taj Mahal is the only one of its kind across the world. Usually, number of visitors approx 1 crore a year.
